TWINS!!!! Can you believe it?! It is truly a gift from God! We have not planned for twins and never in our wildest dreams thought it would ever happen… The girls are beyond excited and Trent and I are…well…trying to figure it all out! We are definitely excited…just in a different way. Having never planned for twins I don’t know where to start. The first thing I worry about is carrying them full-term which I’ve been told is probably not going to happen. Then, I worry about work…how long will I have to be out…will I be put on bed rest during some part of the pregnancy?! There is SO much that I can worry about but I shouldn’t! The Lord has blessed us DOUBLE what we were expecting and he will provide for us! There will definitely be A LOT of relying on him during these next several months and Years to come!! Just when we think we have it all figured out…our Faith is tested…this is one test I plan to pass! Until next time…when I’m sure I will be a few pounds heavier….
What is going on??!!!

This weekend the Miss USA pageant was on…I just happened to be watching when Miss California was asked a question by a gossip blogger, Perez Hilton. The question he asked, if you’ve been living under a rock the last few days, was about legalizing same-sex marriage. Miss California kind-of stumbled her way through the answer but I thought it was a good answer. To summerize, she pretty much stated that it is great that we live in a country that we are allowed to choose who we love but that she was raised to believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. I commend her because she was going to win the title as Miss USA but because of her answer she was marked down and was 1st Runner up instead. In an interview she did earlier in the week she said that God was testing her faith by being asked that question. I also believe that marriage is between a man and a woman and I think it is sad that there are so many people that have slammed on Miss California for answering the question the right way…honestly according to her beliefs…not the popular way!!!

Snow in Georgia
We awoke to snow flurries this morning!!! By 10:30 AM enough had accumulated to play in so Trent and MK headed out into the snow! I stayed inside with SG who was sick in bed with a (short-lived) virus of some kind! Once Savannah woke up we all went outside to throw snow balls and make a snowman-that later turned into a snow woman! MK ate all of the snow in sight!!! We all had a blast, although the girls got cold quickly (even though they both had on 15,987 layers of clothing)!!! I don’t know how people in the north ever get anything done, it takes 20-30 minutes just to get all of the layers of clothing on, boots, gloves, jackets, hats, etc. I had to do that 3 times today and I’m exhausted from just doing that! The snow is beginning to melt away now and school has been canceled for tomorrow because it is supposed to freeze tonight. But it has been a great family day, we have played together, had snowball fights, baked brownies…how much better does it get than that??!! Until next time….

I’m still here…
I just haven’t been that into posting lately, well almost 4 months since I have posted! This is one of the reasons it took me so long to create a blog, I knew I would be a slacker when it came to posting! Who has time to write a blog when they work all day and then come home to two little girls, do homework, make dinner, wash clothes, go to cheerleading practice, church and get to bed at a decent time??!! Well I guess I could do better job and I am going to try, I promise!!! So here are some pics of Christmas…it was so much fun this year, the girls are such fun ages! We visited Santa at Callaway Gardens…

We visited Aunt Judy…

We made Gingerbread houses…

We got PJ’s on Christmas Eve…

We sang “Happy Birthday” to Baby Jesus…

We celebrated 7 years of marriage…

We are very blessed!!!

How can two little girls born and raised exactly the same be so completely different? MK is so adventurous, out-going, and our all around “wild child!” Where as SG is more private, quiet, and relaxed (she’s not the perfect child-just very close). This week I have really been trying to get the girls to go outside when we get home from school (around 3:30, if we don’t have and errands to run). MK I can talk into going out by letting her paint, draw with chalk, play on the swings, ride the Barbie jeep, or skate. SG on the other hand WILL NOT go outside (this is when she is NOT the perfect child)! She cries, and refuses to go out even when I take away her DS, computer time and TV time, she will sit in her room and pout or play with her Barbies (which I don’t mind but she needs to go outside)! She will begin cheerleading soon and I am hoping that will encourage her to go out, although she will be cheering for a basketball team so they will be inside…. I love both of my girls with all my heart, it is just amazing to me how they can be so different!

Sisters
This weekend was probably the best weekend I have ever spent with my sisters! Rosie rode with Trent, the girls and I up to Clarksville to visit Jenny, Matt and Daisy. The best part about the weekend was we had no set-in-stone plans, we knew there were a few things we wanted to do but if we didn’t get to them it wasn’t the end of the world! It was great to watch SG and MK interact with Daisy! They followed her around the house and SG even “babysat” her while walking around a store on Sat. so Jen and I could browse. Jen, Rose and I spent Sat. morning doing what sisters do, exchanging clothes, talking about hair styles, boyfriends/husbands, make-up and sharing EvErYtHiNg! We even talked the boys into walking with us around the neighborhood, a tradition we have started when visiting Jen! It’s so sad that I can’t see them more but it makes me treasure the time that I do get to spend with them! Trent and I also told Rosie that she is invited to travel with us whenever we go somewhere, it was so nice having a “nanny” in the car, so I wasn’t climbing over seats to get things for the girls or to break up an argument (oh you thought they were angels….ha, ha!)

Back to the Daily Grind
SG started 1st grade this week! She is doing so great that her teacher said that she would take SG home with her b/c she’s just so dog-on sweet. SG was so worried about going to 1st grade b/c she thought it was going to be “harder than kindergarten,” but she has done great so far and says she wishes she could go to school “two times a day!”
MK started preschool this week, she is actually in the upper 3-year-old class. Her favorite things about school so far have been painting, snack and brushing her teeth! She tells me everyday (very excitingly) that she did not get put in time-out…
I officially started back this week…let’s just say it’s been a L-O-N-G week! (pic of Mama by MK)
Hope you have a great weekend, ours will be filled with birthday parties (3 on Sat), house cleaning, and yard work…fun stuff!
Favorite Memories of Summer 08
As summer comes to an end…(school starts for me Tuesday) I just wanted to look back over some of my favorite things we did this summer….
The girls and I got to spend a week in Wrens, visiting family and both girls are now able to swim!!! (MK is able to swim from point A to point B but we’re still working on the coming up and taking a breath part…)
We finally got Steven and Ashley MARRIED!!!
We went to Disney World!!!
Savannah turned 6!!!
Grammi and Grandaddy came to visit!
I got to spend the whole summer with these to beautiful little girls that are growing up WAY too fast! MK loves to lay beside SG as she reads, it’s amazing how much she is learning from her big sister!
